There are actually two ways you can install themes for your blackberry, you can download and install it OTA (Over the air) and you can install it manually with desktop manager. Ok, I’m gonna explain to you how to install themes with these two methods.
A. Installing themes over the air (OTA)
- This method allowed your blackberry browser to a file on the net then you can download and install it automatically from there.
- Point your browser to URL where the theme file is located.
- Then you’ll be prompted to download the file click the download button
- After the download complete, click the OK button on your screen.
- Now you can go to your Themes section on your Blackberry => Go to your Options menu and click on Themes.
- Choose the theme you’ve just installed, and your theme will be activated.
B. Installing themes manually
- To install themes manually, you’ll need the Blackberry Desktop Manager. The theme files usually is in zip form.
- After dowloading the zip file extract it to your PC hard drive where you can remember it.
- Launch Blackberry Desktop Manager. Now, from the main menu select Application Loader
- From Add/Remove Application click Start button
- Click the browse button in the Application list.
- Go to your folder where your theme files extracted earlier. Double click the file or click the open button.
- Desktop Manager will run a check on the file
- After that your theme will be on the list. To start installing, tick the box next to your theme name and click Next button
- On the next screen click Finish
- Blackberry Desktop Manager will do the rest of the steps. Once it’s done you’ll be seeing this:
- Disconnect your Blackberry device
- Go to Options menu and click on Themes, choose the theme you’ve just installed, your theme will be activated.
